ABOUT US

The Pentecostals of Dewitt is a Spirit Filled Apostolic fellowship of believers that is committed to living out New Testament Christianity in today's culture.

We are bible based; spirit led and mission focused. It is our mission to help people find freedom and restoration in Jesus Christ.
At POD we strive to be more than a church; we are determined to open our arms and hearts to be a family for the hurting. We  are currently experiencing a season of renewal. With a newly elected pastor, we are leaning into fresh vision and focus on reaching our community, and becoming a missions minded body of believers.

Plan Your Visit

We're so glad that you're thinking of attending one of our services! Visiting a new church for the first time can be a bit intimidating, so we want to give you an idea of what to expect when you visit to make your visit as comfortable as possible.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE

When you first arrive, one of our friendly greeters will welcome you and help show you where you need to go. On Sunday mornings, if you have kids in elementary school, you can drop them off for a fun worship experience just for kids in Sunday School. At any of our services, if you have an infant or toddler, you can drop them off at our nursery.

WHAT TO WEAR

Regardless of which service you attend, dress however is comfortable for you. You'll see a range of styles from jeans to suits. Casual or "Sunday best" . . . it doesn't matter; do what works for you.

SERVICE LENGTH

Our SUN service is usually 90 minutes long. Our WED services are normally around an hour and fifteen minutes.
Our services are passionate! We clap and lift our hands, sing, and offer other heartfelt expressions of worship. After we sing and take time to give an offering, our pastor will preach a dynamic and relevant message.

Our Beliefs

One God

There is only one God. The One God has revealed Himself to us as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and through the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that is, the One God manifested in and through an authentic human life. To see Jesus is to see God. (Deut 6.4; John 14.9; Eph 4.4-6; Col 2.9; 1 Tim 3.16).

The Bible

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is true in all that it teaches. As the flawless Word of God, it is our only authority for what we believe and how we live (2 Tim 3.15-17).

Sin & Salvation

Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Rom 3.23-25; 6.23; Eph 2.8-9).

The gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We express our belief in the gospel through our obedience to the gospel. We obey the gospel and apply it to our lives by repenting of our sins (death to sin),

being baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection). This is the consistent pattern of conversion in the early church (1 Cor 15.1-4; 2 Thes 1.8; 1 Pet 4.17; Mark 1.15; Acts 15.7; Rom 6.3-4; Acts 2.4, 37-39; 8.9-17; 10.1-48; 19.1-7).

Christian Living

As Christians we are to love God and love others. We are to worship God joyfully and seek to live a life that is pleasing to him both inwardly and outwardly—in our thoughts, words, and actions. We are empowered to live a life pleasing to God through the Holy Spirit. As a Pentecostal church, we believe that the supernatural gifts of the Spirit are for the church today and are available to all Spirit-filled believers (Mark 12.28-31; 1 Cor 12.8-10; 2 Cor 7.1; Rom 8.13-14; Gal 5.19-26; Heb 12.14).

The Future

Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away his church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death (1 Thes 4.16-17; Rev 20.11-15).

Ministries

At POD we have a passion for teaching and reaching the kids of our community! Our Kids (up to age 11) meet for Sunday School during our Sunday Morning Worship Service and after worship service on Wednesdays for POD Kid's Service. We are passionate about seeing our kids grow into young adults that love and serve the Kingdom of God.

For Ages 12+ our POD Youth meet up to hang out, pray together, and study the bible. Our weekly POD Youth Class meets on Sunday mornings! We also take trips, attend youth gatherings across the state, as well as fundraising and attending NAYC together.

At POD we meet monthly to pray together as a church. Prayer is central to our faith, and we encourage every member to come together as a church community and pray in one accord. Check out our church calendar for the dates to our next monthly prayer meeting.
